“You’re right, no human being would stack books like this”
in which I move a lot of books and am strangely comforted thereby
Huzzah, the builders are back. Only this time its to hack holes in the floor of the smallest bedroom – a.k.a My Library
The reason for this is that the floors upstairs have “settled”. Apparently a 3/4 inch gap between bottom of skirting board and top of floor is only of cosmetic interest, and not any sign that things from above are about to come crashing through into the room below as I watch Futurama.
Yeah.
So, they came back. And prised MY floor up, as given the option of cheap vinyl floor covering vs quite pricely Karndean flooring – they decided to go in the one thats cheaper to replace. So I got to move everything off the left side bookcases.
It is now obvious to adam that my book collection has amassed somewhat in the last 18 months.
Bother.
I think it might have caught his attention as i constructed teetering heeps in our bedroom that I had emptied only two cases, and yet filled up a large portion of the bedroom.
The heaps arent that teetering, owing to the fact that there are so many of them that they are holding each other up.
I have however slept very soundly and with a sense of comfort knowing that my precious books were nearby.
I dont think that I can talk him into letting me keep them here. 🙁
